Proceeds from this event will benefit the House of Heroes Connecticut. The mission of House of Heroes Connecticut (HOHCT) is to recognize, honor and serve Connecticut military and public safety veterans and/or their spouses who have served our country faithfully and sacrificially. They do this by providing one day, no-cost home repairs through partnerships with and the generosity of individuals, civic organizations and corporations.
They are committed to growing the organization and advancing the mission to the ever-increasing numbers of veterans both in Connecticut and nationwide.
The Connecticut Chapter has provided no-cost home repairs to 276 Connecticut military and public safety veterans and/or their surviving spouses since 2012. Projects have been completed in 73 cities and towns throughout Connecticut. The organization will hit 286 projects by the end of the year.

This event is dedicated to honor Abner Oakes III, a Navy Veteran and the founder of the Hamden Veterans Commission. In 2010 Abner was inducted into the Veterans Hall of Fame. Abner passed away May 29, 2021.
Parking: Parking will be available in the Farmington Canal parking lot and along the street.
Please avoid parking in any local business parking lots (Cascade, Mikro, Amity Wine, Dunkin Donuts, etc). If you park there, your car may get towed.
Packet-Pickup: Packet pickup with be race day from 7:00 am to 8:15 am at the race site. Same day registration will be offered at packet pickup.
Registration includes: Race Entry Chip Timing Race day Parking Event T-Shirt Our printer requires us to place our shirt order 10 days prior to race day (to ensure the shirts are ready for race day). The volume of shirts we order is based on the number of registrations. The only way to guarantee a t-shirt and/or desired size is to register early.
Course Information: The race will start at 8:30 am.
The 5k and 10k will follow an out and back course on the Farmington Canal trail. You will not have to cross any traffic intersections.
We will have a water stop at mile 1.5, 3 and 4.5 of the 10K course and at mile 1.5 for the 5K.
Awards Awards are based on overall race time (not on an athletes chip time). We award prizes for the following categories: Overall Finishers – The Top 3 Male, Female and Non-Binary (Overall award winners are not eligible for age group awards) Age Group Finishers – The top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups (age calculated on race day) 12 and Under 13 - 19 20 – 29 30 – 39 40 – 49 50 – 59 60 – 69 70 - 79 80+
Deferral Policy More than 30 days before race options: Deferment to next year’s race (1 year only), Deferment to any other Team Mossman Events race in the same race season or refund of race entry fee minus $10 service fee.
10-30 days before race: Deferment to next year’s race (1 year only) or Deferment to any other Team Mossman Events race in the same race season.
10 days or less before race: No refunds or deferments.
