EVENT SUMMARY

Please join us on Thanksgiving for our Annual Run Turkey Run 5K. A long-standing Thanksgiving tradition in Hamden, there is no better way to start your Thanksgiving Day than running or walking a 5K with family, friends and the community. Make it a 4-F day – Family, Food, Football & a Five K. (A bit of a stretch but you get the point).
Whether this is your first 5K or you have done this race every year, we welcome you and encourage you to dress for the occasion. From turkey hats to tutus and even full turkey and pilgrim costumes, it’s sure to be fun for all ages and a great way to get in a little exercise before the eating begins.
Our race begins nice and early (7:30 am) so it won’t interfere with any of the day’s other activities.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Hamden Community Services which supports Hamden’s Community Food and Resource Distribution Programs, Youth and Community Programs and Essential Emergency and Financial Assistance Programs.

Packet-Pickup (At Race site):
Between 3:00pm and 6:00pm, Wednesday, November 25th.
Between 6:15am and 7:15am, Thursday, November 26th.

Same day registration will be offered at packet pickup

Our printer requires us to place our shirt order 10 days prior to race day (to ensure the shirts are ready for race day). The volume of shirts we order is based on the number of registrations. The only way to guarantee a t-shirt and/or desired size is to register early.
 
Course Information:
The race will start at 7:30am sharp.

The course is an out and back on the Farmington Canal Trail. There will be no street crossings. There will be a water stop just before the turnaround.
 
Awards
Overall awards are based on overall race time (not on an athletes chip time) and Age group awards are based on the athletes chip time. We award prizes for the following categories:
Overall Finishers – The Top 3 Males,  Females and Non-Binary (Overall award winners are not eligible for age group awards)

Age Group Finishers – The top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups (age calculated on race day)
12 and Under

20 – 29
30 – 39
40 – 49
50 – 59
60 – 69
70 - 79
80+
 
Transfers
 If you have registered and cannot race with us, please contact us as soon as possible and we can work with you to transfer your entry into another race or category. All transfers must be completed before online registration closes.
