Training Schedule: **
Not everyone’s training needs are the same, but we have found this schedule to work for most athletes.  This is your camp, and our goal is to ensure that every athlete has his/her training needs met.  We can work with you to find the perfect route to meet your training schedule.

Day 1 – Thursday
Day 1 starts on Thursday afternoon when you check in for the camp. After a quick swim safety briefing, you will enjoy a one loop (1.2 mile)  swim in Mirror Lake. We will have stand up paddle boards in the water while you swim to ensure everyone has a great, safe swim.

After your swim, you can check in to your hotel. There will be an optional welcome dinner (cost not included in camp) at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery. After dinner we will meet in the back of Lake Placid High School and review how transition will be setup on race day. We are also working on securing a special guest speaker for Thursday night.

Day 2 - Friday
Friday is the big bike day! – you will ride 2 loops (112 miles) of the challenging Ironman Lake Placid bike course. We will have 2 aid stations on the course where you can top off on fluids and nutrition. Also you will see our SAG support driving the course to ensure everyone is safe.

After you finish your ride, its time for your brick run – you can run 1 or 2 loops around mirror lake (3 miles each loop).
Once you are done with your ride,  we will have cleaning supplies available so you can clean your bike and get it ready for Saturday’s ride.

After dinner we will have a rules clinic lead by an USAT and Ironman Referee. At this session you will learn more about the commonly broken rules and what you can do to ensure you do not end up in the penalty tent! Bring any and all rules related questions because there will be plenty of time for a Q & A.

Day 3- Saturday
We start off Saturday with a 2 loop (2.4 mile)  swim in mirror lake. Just like day 1 – we will have support on the water.

After your swim, you will get on your bike and complete another loop (56 miles) of the epic Lake Placid bike course.
After dinner we will have another education session, we are still securing the speaker but will have more information on the topic soon.

Day 4 - Sunday
It’s hard to believe your training camp experience is almost over, just one thing left to do – conquer the run course! You will run one loop (13.1 miles) of the Ironman Lake Placid run Course. We will have an aid station on the run course so you can grab some fluids and nutrition.

**We may make changes to the schedule based on weather and speaker availability. We will update you about any changes as soon as possible.

Testimonials:

"I have attended the Ultimate Triathlon Training camp at Lake Placid 4 or 5 times over the last 12 years and it never disappoints.  Whether you training for the Lake Placid Ironman or another 70.3 or 140.6 lake placid is the ideal training ground. The clinics are always informative and the real treasure is the dozens of years of experience you can tap into from all the other triathletes at the camp. Whether a beginner or crusty triathlete you should experience this camp."
-Will B.

"Perfect training camp to prepare for an upcoming 70.3 or 140.6. Iconic Lake Placid combined with top notch training and support. Highly recommend the Ultimate Triathlon Training Camp. Got to meet and train with some awesome people and socialize in a warm environment. The accommodations, meals and training events could not be better. I credit Clay and his team with getting me ready to take on Lake Placid. I will be back for sure! "

"
I can't say enough positive things about my experience at the 2021 Ultimate Triathlon Camp. I have been to other IM camps and this was hands down the BEST experience. Coach Clay was attentive and caring as were all of the folks at Team Mossman. I felt a lot of anxiety that I would not be able to keep up with other athletes, but I didn't need to worry - I was never left behind, there was so much support throughout the training days for the swim, bike and run. I was also challenged to do the work and training that I was there for - the camp was a safe space for me to push myself. There were informative speakers (and good food). Perhaps more importantly, I have made new triathlon friends for life. On the day before the race my bike shifter was acting up and Coach Clay and James helped me get my bike and sanity back. Team Mossman's is not only dedicated to triathlon, but also being good people."
-Julie D.

"2021 was my first year attending Mossman Lake Placid Camp.  I am relatively new to Triathlon having only started with sprints in 2018, my first 70.3 in 2019, (we’ll leave out 2020 for obvious reasons), and 2021 was the year I had planned a couple 70.3s and my first full 140.6 in Chattanooga.  I had a few friends doing Lake Placid that year and asked me if I wanted to join them for the camp and I figured it would be great training practice for my race.  I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to join camp.  Everything was set up very well, from check in to check out.  Not only were Dawn and Clay the best in running the camp, the other triathletes that attended were also very friendly and supportive.  Having been newer to the sport I had never swam more than 1.2 miles, biked more than 65 miles, or ran over 13 miles before, and with the help of Clay and the group I was able to break all three that weekend!  The success I had attending camp gave me the confidence I needed to truly feel like I could conquer a full distance triathlon (which I did in September).  Being able to train on the Lake Placid course last year also gave me the confidence to sign up for the full race this year.  The supported bikes and runs gave me a great sense of race-type conditions, but also the opportunity to be with a group of people at my same skill level so that I wasn’t totally alone.  I look forward to coming to camp again this year!"
